TCC delivered during the olympic games period in Paris 2024 an assessment on a potential climate risks on the 43 sites where the olympic and paraolympic events took place.
Among this objectives from this collaboration, we did communicate TV viewers on the state and evolution of short et mid-term climate risks on spatial microscales (neighborhood and building levels), particuly when excess heat waves where associated with the ground mineralisation and the anthropogenic activities inside big cities.
Others risks have been evaluated as well by France TV during the games including coastal flooding, particularly relevant on the Tahitian archipelago where the Teahupo’o wave was of prime importance for the surfing events.
